Chemical Peels do require some recovery time before you will see results. Light to medium peels require just two to four days of recovery time, when your skin may look sunburned and feel dry and sensitive. Recovery for deeper peels can last from seven to 12 days, with additional redness and flaking for up to three months.

Once your face is cleansed, the peel solution is applied and left on for a duration ranging from a few minutes to an hour. The timing depends on the type and strength of the peel as well as the sensitivity of your skin.
